About Budesonide Inhalation Powder
Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid. Used every day, it reduces swelling and irritation in the airways and helps prevent asthma attacks. It is a preventer: it does not relieve sudden breathing problems, so you also need a rescue inhaler such as albuterol.
In the US, budesonide inhalation powder is sold as Pulmicort Flexhaler. Rinsing your mouth with water after each use (without swallowing) helps prevent thrush.
