About Acyclovir 5% Cream
Acyclovir 5% cream treats cold sores (recurrent herpes labialis) on the lips and face in adults and children 12 and over. Starting it at the first sign – tingling, redness or a bump – helps the cold sore heal faster.

How to use
Apply enough to cover the cold sore 5 times a day for 4 days, starting at the first sign of an outbreak. Wash your hands before and after use. For the lips and face only – keep it away from the eyes, inside the mouth and the nose.
Follow the directions on your prescription and the pharmacy label. Ask your prescriber or pharmacist if you have questions.
