About Albendazole Tablets
Albendazole treats infections caused by certain parasitic worms. In the US it is approved for neurocysticercosis (pork tapeworm infection affecting the brain) and hydatid disease (tapeworm cysts in the liver, lungs or abdomen), and treatment is prescribed and monitored by a doctor.
Albendazole can harm an unborn baby, so women who could become pregnant need a pregnancy test before treatment and should use birth control during it. Blood counts and liver tests are checked during treatment.
