About Low Dose Aspirin 81 mg Chewable Tablets
Low-dose (81 mg) aspirin is taken daily by some adults, on a doctor’s advice, to help prevent heart attack and stroke. It can also be used for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains.
Daily aspirin isn’t right for everyone because it increases the risk of bleeding, so talk to your doctor before starting or stopping it.
How to use
For heart protection, take only as directed by your doctor. For pain: adults and children 12 years and over, chew 4 to 8 tablets every 4 hours; do not exceed 48 tablets in 24 hours. Children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chickenpox or flu-like symptoms should not use aspirin.
Always read the label before use. Ask a pharmacist or doctor if you are unsure whether this product is right for you.
Possible side effects
- Stomach upset or heartburn
- Increased risk of bleeding, including stomach bleeding
- Get help right away for signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, facial swelling or wheezing
